My name is Juan, born in Madrid. I am a certified Spanish teacher. Entitled to a Master's Degree as a teacher of Spanish by the University of Barcelona and Instituto Cervantes and another Master's Degree on Secondary Teaching, Vocational Training and Languages.
Thanks to my experience with many types of students, I have the ability to prepare classes individually and adapt to the needs of the student.
I have more than 12 years of experience teaching Spanish to all levels and ages. In recent years I have specialized in working with Secondary school students and with adult students who want to learn Spanish for leisure or work reasons.
Languages have always attracted me. I've been studying other languages my whole life. Because of this, I am well aware of the problems that a student can have when deciding to study a foreign language. But I also know how exciting and rewarding it is. I still train every day to keep learning.
I have a strong background in Education and have obtained a MA in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language in the Universidad de Barcelona. I also have a MA in Teacher Training from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. This has provided me with a comprehensive view of the field and re-enforced my determination to pursue a professional career as a Spanish language teacher.
Juan is excellent - only after a few lessons we knew he was perfect for us.

I have had weekly 1-on-1 Zoom classes with Juan for the past 6 months and in every one of these classes it has been clear that Juan loves being a teacher and to teach Spanish. He is professional and friendly, and always explains things in a way that is easy for me to understand. His classes have a good structure and I find it really helpful the way that he explains things on screen and provides class notes. My Spanish has really come along since I started the lessons, and I have also learnt lots about Spain and Spanish culture. Always professional - he always starts class on time and has never cancelled a lesson. He is an excellent teacher that I would 100% recommend.

Juan has really helped my son to improve his Junior Cert Spanish with weekly practice. Juan is very patient has a positive outlook. In class he revises the new material Eoin has done in school and revises older material to help my son retain the material long term. This has improved my son's grades and made him more confident at Spanish. I would recommend him highly.
