I am an adult beginner with no prior experience, and I haven't read music for years. Nearly two months into lessons, I can now play simple melodies. I really enjoy the spiritual aspect of our sessions; it feels less like learning and more like integrating music into my life. Additionally, I feel we are building a strong, long-term friendship with Mikhail. I'm happy to have him in Southsea.

First and foremost Mikhail is a professional musician who strives to give his precious time to students who want to learn. I have been learning with Mikhail for 4 months after 30 years of not having any formal lessons. He is a sucker for detail and will take things that have been taken for granted as easy to play by the student then pull them apart so that practice and results are better in the long run for performance. This style of teaching takes getting used to after time away but the lessons are always interesting and motivating towards practice. Mikhail listens well and is very adaptable. He has an excellent booking process so that lessons can fit around professional and family demands.

A skilled performer and tutor of fine calibre. First lesson was free and I learned so much already. I'm really difficult to teach as I'm a self taught adult but this tutor is not phased by such things. Lovely space too with good and regular public tranport.

i had a little difficulty getting the system to recognise my choice of Mikhail . Despite pressing the "contact the tutor" button provided on the website by each choice of tutor this did not lead immediately to a facility to send the tutor a message. As already reported, my first session with Mikhail was excellent and we had a second session today of equal technical and musical relevance. Further lessons are planned.

Mikhail is an inspiring and thought provoking teacher who has challenged and broadened my musical thinking. With his skill and perceptiveness he has identified what I need to focus on to develop my playing. Mikhail is a thoroughly patient, kind and likeable person - well worth learning with.

I am new to the cello, having learned violin in the past and I was seriously lacking in confidence. Mikhail has made a huge difference in just a few lessons with his gentle praise and encouragement. The exercises and music he has provided me with are challenging but, thanks to Mikhail and his patient and inspirational teaching, I have already fallen in love with the cello!

Mr is not only a patient and very supportive teacher, but he is also a refined musician. His technical knowledge in violin playing is outstanding, and at the same time he uses creative tools I have never seen before.
