Tutor Profile

Jaiprakash

I am a Math and Computer Science teacher currently teaching senior secondary students at Shree Krishna Pranami Public School in India. I hold a Master's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Freie Universität Berlin, Germany, and a Bachelor's in Computer Science from Kurukshetra University, India.

Teaching Experience

My teaching experience spans three countries. In Germany, I worked as an IT Administrator and Web Designer at 1000shapes GmbH, and as a Student Assistant on an AI research project at Freie Universität Berlin. I also taught mathematics to refugee children through a program with the Akelius Foundation, in partnership with UNICEF, an experience that taught me how to make math clear and accessible no matter a student's background or language level.

Tutoring Approach

I start from figuring out what a student already knows before I start. Then I teach the why behind math or that topic, not just steps to memorize. I use pictures and real examples to make ideas click. If a student is behind, we go step by step and build confidence with small wins first. That is why my typical lesson would look something like this:-

  1. Quick check-in on homework (5 min)
  2. Talk about a real life scenario about the topic (5 min)
  3. New topic, explained with pictures or examples (15 min)
  4. We solve problems together (15 min)
  5. Student tries on their own while I watch (10 min)
  6. Quick review + one task
