My name is Pip, I'm 25 years old and currently a physics PhD student at the University of Exeter.
Before undertaking a PhD I achieved a 9, A* and B in GCSE maths, A-level maths and A-level further maths respectively. I attended the University of Exeter for my undergraduate studies, where I achieved a 2:1 BSc in maths.
I have also taken part in several UKMT maths challenge papers, achieving, bronze, silver, gold and best in year awards.
I have tutored both privately and for the university during my studies. I have privately tutored kids from age 8 - 16 in maths, and led physics and maths tutorials in degree level maths.
Outside of academia I have also coached/taught rugby and athletics to kids aged 7 - 14.
I firmly believe the best way to learn anything is for you to enjoy it, therefore, I prioritise making my lessons as enjoyable as possible and making sure my students understand each step and topic I am talking through.

Phil tutored two of my children covering both primary and secondary maths curriculum. He was able to come to our home and provide tutoring to my children which put them both at ease. He was able to improve some lost confidence to my daughter who had only just started secondary school and brought my son back up to achieving appropriately for his age after struggling from covid times. My daughter managed to achieve the 2nd highest maths score in the year and my son just kept on improving in his assessments. This was a positive experience and we are very greatful! Thank you!
