Tutor Profile

Millie

Private History and Latin Tutor in Blackpool

Hey! I'm Millie, and I'm an undergraduate student studying Classics at the University of Oxford. I achieved all A and A* grades at both GCSE and A-level, and I am committed to helping my students do the same.

I'm excited to meet new people and passionate about helping them reach their highest potential. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy long walks, reading, and writing

Teaching Experience

I have experience tutoring students in my local community, supporting them with homework, exam preparation, and areas they found particularly challenging. Through this experience, I have developed confidence in explaining difficult concepts clearly and adapting my explanations when needed.

The students I have worked with have provided positive feedback and reported improvements in both their understanding of the subject and their grades. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate effectively, build students' confidence, and help them achieve their academic goals.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring is tailored to each of my student's individual needs, allowing us to focus on the areas where they need the most support. I begin by identifying their strengths, weaknesses, and learning goals, then adapt lessons accordingly to ensure our time together is as effective as possible.

I am patient, supportive, and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to suit each student's preferred way of learning, no matter if this involves going through the material step by step, with visual aids, by practising exam-style questions, or reinforcing key concepts through repetition.
