Hi there! I’m Susan, I’m currently working as a Learning Support Assistant with Secondary School pupils who have each have SEND. Due to this, I hold an enhanced DBS check.

I’m a graduate of The Open University where I studied an Open Degree, majoring in Psychology but also included modules in Biology, Environmental Science, Health Science and Children’s Literature.

After graduating I worked with training and development for individuals over several years before deciding I would prefer to go into teaching. I undertook a Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Assistant studies and hope to go on soon to attain my QTS.

I have a passion for learning, at the moment I’m currently studying Spanish. I’m a beginner but we all start somewhere!

I’m a very patient and empathetic person, and I have understanding of different needs for different students. I’d be happy to tutor core subjects up to KS4 and some at GCSE level. I’m also happy to assist with keeping students on task to help with completing homework for a lower fee.

I have several years experience in coaching, training and development. I am currently working as a Learning Support Assistant and provide targeted support to children with SEND. I also have experience in conducting dyslexia screening tests which can be used as evidence to support future assessments.

I prefer to give an individualised approach to tutoring and to provide a safe space for students to ask any questions.
