So far a great first year with Maria as my tutor. She has been diligent and understanding of my requests. She has a unique ability to not only make the lessons interactive but also share insights into traditions and the culture.

I had sessions with Maria from the start of year 13 while working towards my Russian A-level, and found her to be very helpful in explaining the subject content/ helping me evaluate my essays, as well explaining the exam process and breaking down the mark schemes to help me understand the criteria for success and pinpoint points of weakness that we worked on improving together. This is particularly helpful for essays and the speaking exam/independent research project, as these mark schemes can be tricky to understand. I have now achieved an A* in this A level. Maria is excellent with a mastery of the Russian language, able to answer all of my pesky “why is it like this?” questions without hesitation. She has a deep knowledge of the history and development of the Russian language and is able to explain the grammatical structures with ease. Highly recommend to all.

Maria is an outstanding tutor. With her help I was able to achieve an A* in my Russian A-level. Within less than nine months she was able to get me from a very basic level of Russian to getting an A* in my exam. I was so lost regarding the Russian A-level coursework as the exam board that I was using provided no textbooks or external help, and Maria was invaluable in providing all of the necessary materials, resources and homework to help me progress so much in such a short time. I would not have been able to get the mark I got without her help. Maria is very professional and it is clear that she is deeply invested in her students. And she is a wonderful person too! I would immediately recommend her to anybody needing help with or interested in learning the Russian language.

Maria is an excellent teacher. She is knowledgeable and experienced, providing useful supplementary materials for my son who is taking the GCSE course. During lessons, she clarifies his questions on grammar (declensions, prepositions) with relevant exercises. After 5 lessons, he gained both confidence and overall competence, scoring 94 marks on his term exam.
