Hi there! I’m an experienced tutor, university lecturer and professional writer with over 15 years of teaching experience. I've been teaching online since 2019, working with students across the UK and internationally, from primary level through GCSE, IGCSE and A Level to university and adult learners.

My main specialisms are English Language and Literature, academic and creative writing, essay writing, literary analysis and study skills. I also teach Modern Greek, singing and songwriting, and acting and performance skills.

I hold undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in English Literature, as well as a Master’s degree in Music Performance. Alongside private tutoring, I have taught English at university level, including English for Health Sciences.

I’m a friendly, supportive and adaptable tutor, and I tailor my lessons to each student’s individual needs and goals. I enjoy helping students build confidence, develop independent thinking and discover that subjects they may have struggled with can become genuinely enjoyable.

Outside teaching, I work professionally as a writer, actor and singer-songwriter, so literature, music, theatre and creativity are a big part of my life.

I have extensive experience preparing students for GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level examinations, as well as independent-school entrance examinations and interviews. I have also supported university students with academic writing and taught English for Health Sciences at university level.

I teach Modern Greek from beginner to advanced level, and also draw on my professional experience as a singer-songwriter and actor to teach singing, songwriting, acting and performance skills.

My teaching is tailored to the individual student. I use clear explanations, discussion, targeted exercises, personalised resources and detailed feedback, with a strong emphasis on building confidence and helping students develop the skills to work independently. I have worked with students of a wide range of abilities and particularly enjoy helping students overcome areas they have previously found difficult.

My approach to tutoring is highly personalised, supportive and focused on building confidence as well as academic progress. I adapt each lesson to the individual student’s level, goals, strengths and areas for development rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.

I encourage students to think independently, ask questions and understand why something works, rather than simply memorising answers or techniques. Lessons combine clear explanations, discussion, practical exercises and targeted feedback, with resources selected or created according to the student’s needs.

I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging learning environment while maintaining clear goals and high expectations. Whether a student is preparing for an examination, developing their writing, improving their language skills or working creatively, my aim is to help them become more confident, capable and independent learners.
