I found Linda to be an excellent English tutor for both my teen boys who have different needs. She is organised, resourceful, and patient. I would definitely recommend her.

Linda, I have been asked to leave feedback but this is by no means a critical review of your tutoring. I am struggling with the First Tutors process, of paying a fee to find you without having real contact. I strongly believe that different people/children work best when a connection is made and although that can take time, we felt that this particular connection was not made. Maybe too early to tell or too particular on my daughters side but we felt that this particular tutoring was not right for us. Sorry. I wish for First Tutors to honour returning our finder fee as although there are other tutors on the site, some do not have references and or may not be suitable again.

Linda is a great tutor. She engaged with us first to make sure it was a right fit. She has tutored my son regularly for about a year. He is making progress and doesn’t complain about his lessons! She has worked with us both to support him and works according to his needs. I highly recommend her.

I consider myself very lucky to find Linda as an English tutor to help my son get prepared for his English GCSEs. Due to him having a rather technical mindset (he has got 7 and 8 grades in Maths and sciences in the mocks) he was a bit struggling to get the structure of the English exams objectives and his confidence was very low which was not helpful at all. After he got his first mock exam result back in December (that was 2) we decided that we had to seek the extra help from a very good tutor. I was very concerned that it might be too late already but we were lucky indeed to find Linda on this website and our first session was arranged for the end of January.At the very first session I was amazed how quickly Linda understood my son's problems and how efficient the structure of the lesson was - not a minute wasted, everything she was saying and explaining was very valuable information. When my son wanted to discuss the topics related to 'Inspector Calls' she dived into it immediately and it seemed that Linda had just read the play and had the text in front of her. Considering that she is not just an English GCSEs tutor, but also helps students with 11+ prep and entrance exams for other years groups, this instant switch and diving into the details was impressive to me.Not only Linda is a high level professional but also she is a very good teacher as my son's confidence level has improved significantly by now and the feedback from his school is much more positive. The teacher mentioned last time the grade 6 when my son completed a couple questions from one of  past GCSE papers. What was previously taking like a day and a half for my son to complete now only is a matter of minutes which is evidence that he has got much more understanding of what is needed when answering questions and writing essays and how exactly to hit those objectives. I strongly recommend Linda to everyone who feels they might need extra help to get prepared for their English GCSEs even if that feels like a lot of help is required.

Linda tutored our daughter to prepare her for her 11 Plus entrance exam. She was very sensitive to our daughter's specific needs and was able to tailor classes that worked for her, in particular supporting her with Maths which our daughter found most difficult. Our daughter looked forward to going to see Linda and they established a really positive rapport. Our daughter passed the exam and was offered a place at her first choice school - so thank you Linda!

I was very enthusiastic when I found Linda. She was very prompt to my request prior to selection and I was looking forward to having her tutoring my child. However, once I have signed Linda up, she didn't respond to my introductory email and I had to follow up with a text to see if she had received it. She came back saying that she would call me at 6pm that day to agree on first lesson, which she never did. Linda came back the next day to say that she's had a hectic week and suggested to call me the following day. We agreed that she would call me at 12noon and again she didn't call me until an hour later blaming her hectic week. I am sure Linda is a very good tutor but I don't particularly want to start off our working relationship on this basis, and have decided to not progress having her tutoring my child on this occasion.

My daughter (Year 9) has been taking English lessons with Linda for the last month and has found them to be very helpful. Linda is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable and has lovely patient approach.
