My daughter is studying A-level Maths and, for additional support, is being tutored by Shabnam. My daughter lacks confidence and speed in her maths, and Shabnam has been really helpful in supporting her with both of these areas. She explains things clearly and patiently, which has helped my daughter feel more confident in her approach. Shabnam has a warm, friendly and personable manner, which immediately puts my daughter at ease. Shabnam has been a great help for my son studying A-level physics. She listened to what he felt he needed and she tailored her support in that area each session. Shabnam has been helping our son with his maths from Year-4 (Sep-2020) through to Year-6 for his 11+ exams. We saw a significant improvement in his maths over this period, and he has done well in his 11+ exams this year, thanks to Shabnam. We would highly recommend Shabnam as a tutor. Shabnam has a strong technical background and this clearly shows in her teaching of maths. She clearly explains the problem, and works with the student to identify the method which the child is most comfortable with in solving the problem – as there are often multiple methods. This is important in helping the child truly understand the solution, rather than simply memorising it. We also found that Shabnam is very familiar with the type of questions which students face in their 11+ exams, and so can provide helpful guidance in areas which require focus. Equally importantly, we found Shabnam to be an extremely professional, reliable and flexible tutor, who is more than happy to engage with us to discuss our son’s progress and needs. We always received very quick feedback from her whenever we had a query. But perhaps most importantly, we found Shabnam to be very kind and patient with our son when he would not understand a topic and would get upset. She would take her time, and gently encourage him and help him work through the solution.
