When I first started lessons with her, I was only just getting a Grade 4 in English Literature and English Language. After getting similar grades for a long time, I had started to think that was the best I could do. However, with Vied’s help and feedback, my grades slowly improved from a 4 to a 5, and then to a 6. One of the main things holding me back was my essay structure. Vied helped me understand where I was going wrong and worked with me to improve it. Over time, my essays became much concise and easier to follow. Even when my teachers were predicting me a Grade 4, Vied believed I could do better. Thanks to her support and guidance, I achieved a Grade 6 in both English Literature and English Language at GCSE. I met Vied when I re-entered education at the age of 30, and I cannot stress enough how having a teacher like her would have improved my education had she taught me during my time at secondary school. Vidya worked with my son in the year running up to his GCSE's. We turned to her to support him as he was lacking self confidence leading to a lack of engagement in some of his subjects (however, in other areas he was highly engaged so we knew he could be engaged with the right support). He also has a specific form of neurodiversity that, at times, could impact his work leading to a drop in confidence. Vidya worked making his sessions a 'safe space' for him to re-engage with learning, on getting to know him and building his self-belief and motivation. With her help he prepared well for his GCSE's and exceeded the results he required to go on to the next stage of his education. We are very fortunate that we found V, and that she agreed to tutor our 15-year-old son, Antonio, preparing for his GCSE exams. She is extremely knowledgable, patient, kind and genuinely cares about getting the best for your child - not only academically but also supporting us in encouraging my daughter to look after herself properly during exam time. I reached out to Vidya quite late in the day to help my son with his GCSE preparation for English. Vidya was extremely responsive and after speaking to her she understood what I was looking for.
