Hi, I'm Karim, a professional composer, pianist and music editor based in London. I make music for screen and I produce audio professionally every day. I hold a Master's in Composition for Screen from the Royal College of Music, and I currently work as a music editor on the BBC's Call the Midwife.

I've taught music for over nine years, across private lessons, schools and workshops, to students from complete beginners to working musicians. I've taught composition, music production, piano and music theory, in person and online to students around the world. I adapt to each learner rather than running everyone through the same fixed course.

I teach from real professional practice, not just theory. I teach you to write and produce great music on your computer, and especially the big, cinematic kind. You'll learn to use orchestra, piano, hybrid electronic sounds, voices and percussion to create a specific mood: music that could sit under a film, a game, a trailer, or simply music you're proud of. Along the way you'll learn Cubase and the production side properly, because that's how an idea becomes a finished track. I also teach piano as a creative tool, not the exam-grade way: chords and harmony so you can play the songs you love, improvise freely, and write your own music. I build lessons around what you actually want to make, go at your pace, and meet you wherever you're starting from.
